Antibody Fragmentation
Fab and F(ab¡¯)2 antibody fragments are used in many applications or assays where the presence of the Fc region may cause problems with background staining (cells with Fc receptors) or complement binding (plasma). The divalency of F(ab¡¯)2 fragments also enables antigen cross-linking making it useful for rosetting, cellular aggregation, and precipitation assays.
